We have converted a conventional 2D CAD drawing into a full Building Information Modeling (BIM) framework, with an emphasis on precise modeling and attention to details. Our main objective was to leverage the capabilities of BIM to enhance coordination, streamline the structural design process, and enable effective workflows during construction. Our goal was to create a digital representation that accurately captures the complexities of the building’s structural elements through meticulous CAD to BIM conversion and structural modeling.
The process of conversion involved transforming the geometric data of the CAD model into intelligent Building Information Modeling (BIM) components such as walls, slabs, foundations, beams and columns. We utilized advanced BIM software to add comprehensive parametric data to the model, including material specifications, structural characteristics, connections, and construction sequencing information. By paying close attention to the details, we were able to create a BIM model that accurately represented the structural integrity of the building, which allowed for well-informed analysis and decision-making throughout the project’s lifecycle.
We paid close attention to every detail during the construction process, which included producing comprehensive construction paperwork. This paperwork contained details such as quantities, and precise drawings that were created directly from the BIM model. As a result, we were able to minimize errors, speed up the creation of construction documentation, and improve communication with stakeholders by integrating structural detailing into the BIM environment. This demonstration of CAD to BIM structure modeling and detailing highlights our commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology to deliver top-notch structural designs and efficient building processes.
